Hunchly Daily Dark Web Archives

A free source of dark web intelligence for the OSINT community since 2017

August 17, 2023

At 02:17:41 UTC, January 23, 2017, the Hunchly Dark Web Crawler sputtered to life after myself and the infamous "Anonymous Steve" uploaded their last Python prototype and ran it. Its first target was a hidden service hosting a chat service named Oniichat. With that, the first entry of millions was inserted into the database. For the next six years, this system scoured Tor hidden services, assembled data, uploaded it to Dropbox as a spreadsheet and emailed it to thousands of people—for free, and we're very proud of this fact.

Like all good things, with evolution comes change. This iteration of the Hunchly Dark Web Report and Hunchly itself are undergoing changes to improve your experience. Our new crawler is coming this spring, and it's better than ever. Featuring:

  • Tor and I2P crawls

  • Extended protocol checking beyond HTTP to include: SSH, SMTP, XMPP

  • all data in JSON and CSV format for integration and visualization in Maltego, OpenCTI, ELK, Splunk and others

  • All hosted on high-speed Amazon S3 storage

  • 100% free and Creative Commons ASA licensed

Until then, you're invited to download the Daily Dark Web Report archives. You'll find plenty of goodies, maybe some inspiration to write a better mousetrap. Pop in your email to stay in touch, receive updates and begin receiving the new Daily Dark Web emails when they start flowing again very soon.

One other thing - you are using this information at your own risk, if you discover Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) please report this to the appropriate authorities: Cybertip.ca or the CyberTipline.
